Deacon Keith J. Casey

Deacon Keith was ordained a permanent Deacon in May of 1990, by Bishop John Reiss. He has served at St. Thomas More the entire time. He is a Diocesan certified annulment advocate, a Diocesan certified Coordinator of Religious Education, a Diocesan certified Virtus facilitator and a Diocesan certified level one Catechist facilitator.

He has been chaplain of Boy Scout Troop 157, a Boy Scout Ad Altare Dei Counselor and a member of the Monmouth County Catholic Scouting Committee. He was presented with St. George emblem (Catholic Scouting’s highest award) by Bishop John Smith in 1998.

Currently, he is a Past Grand Knight and assistant Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus, Prince of Peace Council #5903 in Englishtown. He is also a member of the executive committee and the Spiritual Advisor for the St. Thomas More-Our Lady of Mercy St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Keith has been supported in all of his ministry activities but especially in the area of Religious Education by his wife Carol. She is a Diocesan certified Coordinator of Religious Education, a Diocesan certified Catechist and a Diocesan certified level one Catechist facilitator. Carol is also a Lector and an extraordinary minister of Eucharist at St. Thomas More. Together they have been active in Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, and Life in the Spirit.

Carol and Keith have three children and two grandchildren and have lived in the area for the past 32 years. Keith has a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MBA in Professional Management. He has worked for General Foods, Frito Lay, and Best Foods as an engineer, as a Manager of Process Development, and as an R&D Safety Director.
